Regulatory Lawyer - Housing Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Lawyer to join our team at Northumberland County Council. As a key member of our Regulation Team, you will be responsible for advising on housing matters, particularly the selective licensing scheme and enforcement around this scheme. Your expertise in the regulatory framework and legislation around empty homes will be invaluable, as will your experience in advocacy in relevant courts and tribunals. Additionally, your general experience in criminal and civil litigation will be considered, as there may be opportunities to undertake other areas of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on housing matters, particularly the selective licensing scheme and enforcement around this scheme
  • Provide expertise in the regulatory framework and legislation around empty homes
  • Advocate in relevant courts and tribunals
  • Undertake other areas of work as required

Working Arrangements:

The working arrangements are flexible, including the opportunity to work predominantly from home. This is a full-time position, but applications on a secondment or part-time basis will be considered for the right applicant.
