Job Title: Support Worker Team Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Support Worker Team Leader to join our team in Plymouth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of support workers and working alongside them on various services to complement our existing teams who provide support to adults with a variety of different diagnoses.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a passion for the care of vulnerable people, be self-motivated, work well under pressure and in challenging situations. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of support workers to provide person-centered and individualized packages of support to adults with disabilities
  • Working alongside support workers to deliver comprehensive assessment and person-centered support planning
  • Managing household tasks, including cooking, meal planning, housework, shopping, laundry, and budgeting
  • Providing social care tasks, including support with benefit payments and money, training in the use of public transport, development of social and recreational activities, and the development of friendships and other supportive relationships
  • Supporting educational and vocational development, including support in adult education classes and supported employment placements
  • Managing positive behavior development, including the development of more positive behaviors and the corresponding reduction of self-harmful or socially inappropriate behaviors
  • Managing medications, including supervision of self-administration of medications and monitoring of beneficial and negative side-effects
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in care and support work
  • A full UK or EU driving license for insurance purposes
  • Your own vehicle
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A passion for the care of vulnerable people
