About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking, maintaining, and reporting project schedules across the lifecycle of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Schedule Management: Provide input into maintaining project templates per project classification within the company software.
- Progress Tracking: Support stakeholders with progress tracking.
- Project Governance: Perform planning governance responsibilities ensuring the project schedules are an accurate depiction of the project scope, time, and cost.
- Resource Allocation: Assign roles and resources to project schedules to support adequate resource planning.
- Cost Management: Maintain the scheduled cost rates in OPC.
- Activity Progress: Update costs and activity progress.
- Critical Path Management: Manage the critical path.
- Programme Management: Prepare CL32 programmes and client reporting.
- Risk Management: Co-ordinate the risk register and reporting.
- Time Risk Allowances: Conduct Time risk allowances during project phase execution.
- Baseline Management: Manage baselines for reporting and earned value analysis.
- RAID Log Management: Support the Project manager with necessary RAID logs.
- Work Package Management: Maintain OPC work packages and scope assignments.
- Scope Governance: Assure the scope assignments and governance waivers.
- Change Management: Conduct planning requirements in respect of change orders and change requests.
- Opportunity and Risk Identification: To identify opportunity and risk during the programming process, and to ensure early warning systems exist on individual projects for schedule deviations to be notified at the earliest possible time for remedial action by Project Management.
- Milestone Management: To ensure allocated tenders and projects are planned to meet milestones and cost targets.
- Project Meetings: To attend project meetings as required, leading on planning issues with Engineering and Construction teams.
- Planning Arrangements: Comply with any planning arrangement in partnership contracts.
- Liaison: To maintain effective liaison between site operations and office planning activities, attending sites as and when required.
- Software and Techniques: To use effectively all software, techniques, and equipment as assigned to individual proposals and projects.
- Project Planning Techniques: To assist in developing and modifying project planning techniques, with the objective of improving the Project Managers' ability to control the project programme costs and to manage resources to meet contractual deadlines.
- Health and Safety: To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy.
- Additional Duties: Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time.
Performance Measures:
- The successful and effective implementation of company planning and project control systems.
- The effective use made by Project Managers and the project team of schedule and early warning systems.
- The effectiveness of communication between site and office-based planning activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A formal qualification (HNC or equivalent or above) in a relevant discipline.
- A degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in project scheduling and good planning practices.
- Practical demonstrable experience commensurate to the level of the role within the water/wastewater industry or construction sector.
- Proficient in the use of P6 with proven ability to import and export from the same, and experience of P6 coding.
- Experience of working on NEC forms of contract.
- IT literate with an ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Microsoft Office.

- Confident interpersonal skills.
- Professional approach with strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Good communicator, able to deal with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
