Senior Account Handler/Broker Technician Job Description

Our client, a Lloyd's Broker specialising in Marine Insurance, is seeking a Senior Account Handler/Broker Technician to join their expanding Marine department in their London office. The purpose of the role is to manage a portfolio of marine accounts and support the Hull & War team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts within a sub-team of 5, including Brokers and Account Handlers
  • Prepare open market MRC slips, facility declarations, and endorsements
  • Submit MRC slips to the Whitespace platform or via email to Underwriters
  • Handle renewals, adjustments, and risk processing in the broking system
  • Submit A&S premium LPANs to DXC Technologies
  • Provide technical support to Placing Brokers in the Hull & War team
  • Collaborate with the Accounts/Finance team for payments and reconciliations
  • Attend team meetings and assist with ad-hoc projects
Essential Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in the London Insurance Market
  • Marine Hull & War experience, with multinational exposure
  • Strong knowledge of MRC slip preparation and premium processing
  • Ability to use placing platforms (Whitespace preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
Desirable Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • CII qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Italian is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
What You Need to Know:
  • Based in London (Hybrid working, 3 days in-office minimum)
  • Salary is around £55,000, dependent on experience
