About the Role

The Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in the Winchester area. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Assist in the creation of learning materials and resources.
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management and maintaining a disciplined, respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Contribute to the tracking and assessment of student progress.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
  • A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
