Job Title: Public Protection Officer

Havering Council is seeking a skilled Public Protection Officer to join their team. As a Public Protection Officer, you will be responsible for investigating complaints regarding environmental protection and statutory nuisance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate complaints and take appropriate enforcement action
  • Provide comments on licensing and planning applications
  • Carry out monitoring visits at unsociable hours
  • Attend court and other hearings to provide evidence and lead on prosecutions
  • Manage a multi-disciplined enforcement caseload
Requirements:
  • Experience in environmental protection and statutory nuisance
  • Knowledge of noise, acoustics, air quality, and contaminated land
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a caseload
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Working Arrangements:

This is a hybrid role, with a mix of home working and working from the Town Hall in Romford. You will be required to attend site visits as necessary.
