Public Protection Officer - Environmental Protection

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Protection Officer to join our team in Havering. As a Public Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the environment and ensuring public safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complaints related to environmental protection and statutory nuisance.
  • Take charge of areas such as noise/acoustics, statutory nuisance, air quality, and contaminated land.
  • Provide valuable input on licensing and planning applications.
  • Carry out appropriate enforcement actions and respond to nuisance complaints.
  • Serve notices as necessary and support court proceedings.
  • Manage a diverse enforcement caseload effectively.
  • Conduct monitoring visits, with occasional unsociable hours (subject to manager approval).

Requirements:

  • Full driver's licence, own vehicle, and business insurance (mandatory).
  • Registered Environmental Health Practitioner or relevant professional qualification (desirable).
