We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trunk Sewer Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating our trunk sewer network, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the trunk sewer network, including physical maintenance of sewer assets and operation of plant and equipment.
- Carry out planned, emergency, and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
- Work in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting heavy loads, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team objectives, demonstrating a proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, providing additional support to our customers and services.
- Previous experience in maintenance, preferably with a mechanical bias, and relevant qualifications desirable.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a challenging environment, completing manual handling activities and operating large mechanical assets.
- Proactive approach to work, with the ability to work positively and effectively within a team environment.
- Valid UK driving license, with HGV training provided for successful candidates.
- Ability to work on a shift pattern, including nights, and participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
- Clean-shaven appearance, as required for the role.
- Competitive salary between £22,800 and £28,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Annual leave - 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with length of service, plus bank holidays.
- Contributory pension scheme, with a maximum employee contribution of 12%.
- Personal medical assessments, open to all employees once a year.
