Senior Ecologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our Planning & Environmental team in Belfast. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Bat Surveys, and Mammal Surveys
  • Develop and implement ecological solutions for clients
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver projects from concept to completion
  • Provide expert advice on UK and Irish environmental policy and legislation
  • Conduct field visits and surveys, and analyze data to inform project decisions
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to deliver project outcomes

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in Ecological-related subject (minimum 2:1 preferred)
  • CIEEM or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in ecological consulting, with a strong understanding of UK and Irish environmental policy and legislation
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
