Our Power Systems Engineers are responsible for maintaining and repairing our power and cooling systems, ensuring that our networks remain operational 24/7. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Purpose of the Role

As a Power Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Prioritizing health and safety, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with BT's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Carrying out on-site risk assessments and identifying potential hazards.
  • Working with our Power Environmental Specialists and Power Technical Support Group to ensure compliance with internal sign-off requirements.
  • Contributing to the creation of an inclusive working environment, where everyone feels valued and supported.
What You'll Be Doing

As a Power Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

  • Identifying and reporting potential health and safety issues, as well as compliance and design issues.
  • Ownership of designated patches and sites, contributing to area, regional, and unit objectives.
  • Sharing best practice and supporting colleagues in applying new ideas, technologies, or processes.
  • Executing prioritized work items, ensuring alignment with the wider team and unit's priorities.
What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Electrical competency, including City & Guilds 2360 parts 1+2 or equivalent NVQ.
  • BTEC Electrical Engineering Level 3/HNC/HND/MOET Level 3/ET Level 3.
  • 18th Edition Regs.
  • Inspection, Testing, and Verification (C&G).
