Overview of the Apprenticeship

Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in the maintenance and servicing of light vehicles. Your responsibilities will include learning to safely handle replacement parts such as tyres, brakes, clutches, and gearboxes. As you progress, your duties will evolve, and you will be expected to adhere to health and safety protocols while working in a professional garage setting. Throughout your full-time apprenticeship, you will work towards the following qualifications:
- Level 2 VCQ Diploma in Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Competence
- Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles
- Essential Communication Skills
- Essential Application of Number Skills
- Essential Digital Literacy Skills

Additional Information

Candidates must ensure they can commute to the workplace and attend the training center weekly. This position is a full-time apprenticeship with a focus on developing skills in Motor Vehicle Maintenance.

Requirements

Qualifications

There are no specific grade requirements; however, a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry is essential.
Previous experience, whether through hobbies or formal training, is advantageous.
Candidates should demonstrate punctuality and reliability.
Flexibility and teamwork are important attributes.
Willingness to travel weekly for off-the-job training is a mandatory aspect of the apprenticeship.
While having a driving license is preferred, it is not a requirement.
A mature attitude towards work and training is expected.
Candidates should be able to follow instructions and collaborate effectively with others.

Skills

A strong desire to build a career in the automotive sector is crucial.
Previous experience in the field, whether as a hobby or through formal education, is beneficial.
Punctuality and reliability are key traits.
The ability to work well in a team and adapt to various situations is essential.
Candidates must be prepared for weekly travel for mandatory training.
While driving skills are advantageous, they are not essential.
A professional attitude towards training and work is necessary.
