Fire Safety Manager Job Description

Michael Page is seeking a Fire Safety Manager to join our team in the Midlands region. As a Fire Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a property portfolio consisting of office premises, stations, and depots for a transportation/rail company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a Fire Safety Strategy in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
  • Support internal and third-party projects, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Engage with Property Project Managers, Health, Safety & Compliance Manager, and Project Managers to ensure effective fire safety management.
  • Plan and conduct fire risk assessment surveys, preparing reports on findings and overseeing corrective actions.
  • Provide in-house Fire Prevention Manager (Fire Marshall) training to employees.
  • Offer expert advice and support to develop arrangements relating to the management of emergencies from fires.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within the rail/transport system.
  • Membership of an appropriate Fire Safety Engineering Institution (preferred).
  • BSc or BEng in Fire Safety Management.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK relevant Fire Safety Legislation and British Standards.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Effective communicator at all levels of the organisation; stakeholder management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to project manage tasks from inception to completion.
