Job Title: Fire Safety Specialist

TXM Recruit is partnering with a high-profile railway client to recruit a Fire Safety Specialist on a permanent basis, offering a salary of up to £65,000 per annum based in Birmingham.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement a Fire Safety Strategy based on the safety risk profile.
  2. Support internal and third-party projects, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
  3. Engage with Property Project Managers and Infrastructure Project CDM Compliance Manager and Project Managers to provide design and fire safety engineering assurance support.
  4. Participate in the development of continuous improvements to processes and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Plan and conduct fire risk assessment surveys, preparing reports on findings.
  6. Liaise with and oversee the completion of corrective actions and findings from fire risk assessment reports.
  7. Provide in-house Fire Prevention Manager (Fire Marshall) training to employees as needed.
  8. Offer expert advice and support to develop arrangements relating to the management of emergencies from fires.
  9. Support Department Managers in the completion and implementation of personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPS).
Requirements
  1. Membership of an appropriate Fire Safety Engineering Institution (preferred).
  2. BSc or BEng in Fire Safety Management.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of UK relevant Fire Safety Legislation and British Standards.
  4. Knowledge of the operational rail industry is highly desirable.
  5. Ability to project manage tasks from inception to completion.
