About the Role:

Avara Foods is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants. We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Telford site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimise machinery output and product quality through effective preventative maintenance and efficient breakdown response.
  • Minimise plant downtime and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager and work with operations to minimise plant disruption.
  • Follow engineering standards and good hygiene practice.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  • Solid Engineering experience, ideally in food manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with process machinery and ability to fault find.
  • Mechanical fitting skills, with machining, welding, and fabrication experience desirable.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and work in a timeline-driven environment.
