Join the Ministry of Justice as a Training Director for English Language Development and play a key role in shaping the training offer for Independent Monitoring Boards (IMBs) and Lay Observers (LOs) nationally and regionally.
About the RoleThe postholder will be responsible for developing and driving the delivery of the training offer to IMBs and LOs, ensuring that it meets the needs of the organization and its members. This will involve developing a strategy for training delivery, driving the delivery of a future strategy for training content, and ensuring the administration and delivery of the overall training programme for volunteers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a strategy for training delivery, balancing considerations of budget, feasibility, and member needs.
- Drive the delivery of a future strategy for training content, creating an enriching programme of development in line with organizational needs.
- Have responsibility for the administration and delivery of the overall training programme for volunteers.
- Ensure the administration and delivery of the current overall member training programme, including core training, specialist training, standalone e-learning, mandatory training, training to accompany toolkits, and ad hoc training requirements.
- Ensure that core training content is regularly reviewed and refreshed, and up to date with current member policy and guidance.
- Develop the existing member training programme, including modes of delivery, to include strategic requirements for a programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and the delivery of regional training, while being cognizant of budgetary and resource constraints.
- Work with and through the IMB national training team, LO National Council, and other training providers as appropriate, developing strong, trusting, and collaborative relationships.
- Lead on training records needs analysis to ensure that specifications for the new member database encompass all current and projected training record requirements.
- Ensure that wider relationships with training providers and enablers are maintained and developed to deliver shared understanding and capability, including with MoJ learning leads and leadership, the MoJ Talent & Capability team, and SSCL.
- Develop an outsourced e-learning capability balanced with in-house resource to develop new e-learning content.
- Ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion are considered during the application of all tasks and championed during interaction with the membership.
- Have understanding and experience of developing, rolling out, and administering training programmes nationally to a diverse set of stakeholders, as well as experience organizing large-scale events.
- Has excellent organizational skills, a strong eye for detail, can prioritize effectively, and is focused on quality delivery and meeting deadlines.
The Ministry of Justice offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites, and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.
Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone's circumstances.
The successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office.
