Your daily responsibilities will include collaborating with teams to advance their services, leading cross-regional engagement, addressing operational challenges as they arise, and facilitating change.

Job Duties

As the senior management representative for the specialty area, you will actively foster a culture of care that aligns with the values and leadership principles of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

The Lead Operational Manager will oversee operational leadership and service performance, continually striving to enhance service delivery. Responsibilities include supporting high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective utilization of resources. This encompasses the development and execution of business strategies, projects, and service improvement initiatives.

The Lead Operational Manager will supervise a team of support staff and assist the Service Manager in formulating Service Group plans that contribute to the overall strategy. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and implement potential service enhancements or developments. The Lead Operational Manager will support specific services within the Service Group, including service development, policy review, and procedural implementation.

You will work closely with the Service Director, Service Managers, other Managers, Clinical Directors, Specialty Leads, Associate Directors of Patient Care, Matrons, and Lead Specialist Nurses/Clinical Service Leads to execute the agreed-upon business and service plans.

Proven success in developing clear, adaptable plans that meet organizational needs, delivering change and performance through management and clinical teams. Evidence of engaging clinical teams in strategic discussions, establishing priorities and delivery plans, effective delegation, coaching, performance monitoring, and providing constructive feedback.
