Building Services Engineer

About the Role:

MBDA is seeking a skilled and experienced Building Services Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying mechanical services for our projects, promoting design excellence and contributing to our Net Zero roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare outline briefs, performance specifications, and attend design reviews
  • Approve technical drawings, review and approve derogations from employers' requirements, and carry out value engineering reviews of external consultant's designs
  • Lead on decarbonisation strategies and deliver sustainable solutions that contribute to MBDA's Net Zero road map
  • Assume ownership of the suite of MBDA Building Design Guides and review and update on a periodic basis
  • Collaborate with the wider MBDA Estates team on Pre-Acquisition Surveys, TDD (Technical Due Diligence), Condition Surveys, and Dilapidation Surveys

Requirements:

  • Qualified Design Engineer – Chartered/ MCIBSE status or working towards
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering design within the building services industry
  • Ability to write technical reports (RIBA 0-2, feasibility, issue investigation, condition/dilap surveys)
  • Experience creating outline briefs, scope of works, and performance specifications for planned maintenance and lifecycle works packages
  • Experience of working with digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit, and delivering projects in a BIM environment
  • Experience with new build, refurbishment, and fit-out projects
