Job Title: Senior Medical Engineering Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Engineering Technician to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the commissioning, service, and maintenance of medical devices used in various clinical areas.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning, servicing, and repairing medical devices, including ventilation, endoscopy, and theatre-based equipment.
  • Implementing regulatory actions and ensuring safe disposal of devices at the end of their life.
  • Developing and implementing the ISO 9001:2015 Quality standard.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering theory.
  • Logical approach to fault finding on complex electro-mechanical medical equipment.
  • Proficient IT skills in database management and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of general medical equipment and medical terminology.

Person Specification:
  • Professional electronics knowledge acquired through a BEng in electronics, medical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Analysis and diagnosing of faults in complex electronic/mechanical equipment.
  • Experience of safe operating systems used in maintenance and repair of complex electronic equipment.
