Team CV LTD is currently in search of a skilled 3.5 Ton Transport Operator, well-acquainted with the logistics landscape.

Our client operates within the industrial distribution sector, necessitating the ability to handle and transport substantial items.

Key Information for the 3.5 Ton Transport Operator:

Location:
East London and Essex area (from the client’s main office).

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday – 7:30am – 5pm, including an hour's unpaid lunch break.

Employment Type:
This is a Full-Time, Temporary role, with potential for permanent placement after an initial period of 3-4 months.

Compensation:


£12 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities for the 3.5 Ton Transport Operator:

The main goal for the 3.5 Ton Transport Operator is to guarantee timely deliveries to customers, thereby ensuring a swift and efficient service, fostering customer relationships, and enhancing the company’s reputation for exceptional service.

The operator will also be expected to assist with warehouse operations as needed.

Key Duties Include:
  • Executing deliveries
  • Conducting daily vehicle inspections
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness
  • Interacting with trade counter customers
  • Receiving incoming goods
  • Picking and packing items
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Adhering to service level agreements
  • Participating in daily branch proposals and ongoing stock assessments
  • Handling day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Engaging in the annual stock take


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Providing accurate and timely order processing to minimize delays between order receipt and dispatch, thus maximizing sales and stock turnover.
  • Addressing customer inquiries, warranty issues, credits, and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with third-party distribution providers to identify and resolve potential issues, ensuring smooth order flow and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining close communication with customer service personnel to understand their processes and proactively prevent avoidable issues.
  • Conveying inquiries to External Sales Engineers to optimize sales opportunities.
  • Offering support at the branch/trade counter during unplanned absences.
  • Ensuring that the warehouse and trade counter effectively support sales in achieving product sales and market share in line with company objectives.
  • Communicating effectively with the Branch Manager.
  • Acquiring and demonstrating necessary sales skills, product knowledge, and understanding of company policies for effective operation.
  • Providing assistance and motivation to colleagues as needed.
  • Adhering to sales procedures within the branch environment.
  • Working alongside the Branch Manager to ensure customer service levels are met.
  • Promptly addressing complaints related to direct responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining company property to the required standards.
  • Representing the company professionally and maintaining appropriate standards of dress and appearance.
  • Being prepared to assist with after-hours customer services when necessary.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations as outlined in the Employee Safety Handbook.
  • Familiarizing oneself with data protection protocols as mandated by GDPR to prevent unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.
  • Performing any additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or a Director.


Essential Qualifications for the 3.5 Ton Transport Operator:
  • Possession of a full clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg unassisted.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Personable and proactive approach in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated sales skills, product knowledge, and understanding of company policies necessary for effective trade counter operations.
  • ADR qualification for transporting refrigerant/hazardous goods over 999kg.
