Outreach Teacher

Dunbar Education is seeking an experienced and passionate Outreach Teacher to join our team. As an Outreach Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver High-Quality Education: Plan and teach a broad curriculum that meets the needs of students with SEN, focusing on key subjects such as English, Maths, and life skills, adapting materials to suit a range of abilities and learning styles.
- Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs): Develop and implement ILPs to meet each learner's specific needs, including those with learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, or emotional needs, and track their progress.
- Engage & Motivate: Create a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour in students, helping them to take ownership of their learning.
- Collaborate with Other Professionals: Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, social workers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support and development.
- Behavioural Management: Manage challenging behaviour with patience and consistency, employing restorative practices and strategies that promote emotional regulation and positive change in students.
- Support Personal Growth: Provide education that promotes social, emotional, and life skills development, preparing students for further education, employment, or independent living.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection are maintained, reporting any concerns in line with school policies.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications.
- Experience working with young people with complex needs, including those with SEN, behavioural, emotional, or learning difficulties.
- Experience in an SEN setting or alternative education provisions is advantageous.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with students, parents, and professionals from various disciplines to support student progress.
- Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging behaviour.
- Commitment to Inclusion: A passion for supporting students with special educational needs and ensuring they receive the education and care they deserve.
- Full Time Only - Monday-Friday 8-5
