Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Digital Engineer to join our award-winning in-house Construction Engineering team. As a Senior Digital Engineer, you will lead a small team and contribute to groundbreaking projects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft intricate temporary and enabling works models for existing and proposed structures using Revit.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of design and task team models, collaborating closely with site and Construction Engineering team engineers for fully coordinated solutions.
  • Generate drawings and models for site teams to use in procurement and construction.
  • Create models for clash detection, animation, bid/tender responses, cost analysis, and planning (4D+5D).
  • Actively participate in design coordination meetings, documenting changes and potential issues.
  • Develop models to provide the Carbon team with volumes and carbon values, assisting key project stakeholders in carbon-related decisions.
  • Produce and maintain 3D as-built models for project handover and tracking newly installed buried services.
  • Issue a weekly working 3D model and corresponding summary reports to clients and other contractors, highlighting key changes and additions.
  • Manage time and allocations of team members, communicate realistic deadlines to CET and project teams.
  • Delegate resources and workload to ensure timely delivery.
  • Plan digital strategy at a project level and resource the production.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the wider Digital Engineering team.
  • Propose innovations and adaptations to CET and McGee's methods of working.
  • Manage cross-business digital engineering software licensing requirements and access.
  • Lead the adoption of new business processes and develop procedures.
  • Support the team to deliver, manage performance and development, and assist in recruitment.
  • Provide mentorship and allocate work for interns and early careers.
  • Develop McGee initiatives to reduce carbon through design.

Requirements

  • Expert using Revit to create Structural models and drawings, with the ability to create Revit families and maintain Revit templates.
  • Proficient with Dynamo, Navisworks, Trimble, and other construction software's.
  • Expert at interrogating and coordinating models, proficient manipulating files commonly associated with Revit, including AutoCAD, IFC, and Point Clouds.
  • General working knowledge of structural systems and load paths.
  • Understanding of construction sequences and methods.
