Project Engineer – Body Structures

Coventry

£35,000 - £50,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Coventry. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the Body Structures department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project budgets and supervise the preliminary stages of major projects
  • Assess production costs and other vital data pertaining to the project
  • Compile data from reports and revise time schedules as necessary, overseeing the quality of work at the project site
  • Support project review meetings
  • Liaise with engineering teams, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure the timely closure of all actions
  • Manage the development and production stages of projects
  • Produce product design and development plans
  • Ensure compliance with safety and legal requirements, interpret client necessities, identify engineering problems, and implement solutions

Requirements

  • Strong experience in an Automotive/Manufacturing environment with relevant experience as a Project Engineer within Body Structures or in a Project Management role
  • Ability to liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers, and service providers
  • Time management skills, multitasking, and prioritising workload
  • Proven record of people and project management
  • Ability to produce reports and conduct meetings
  • Plan work and cascade to the team
  • Integrate departmental planning with other business units
  • Demonstrate good emotional intelligence, ethics, and professionalism
  • Organised, methodical, but flexible approach to workload

Desirable Skills

  • Experience and knowledge of designing project guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to lead moderate teams
  • Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Composite knowledge and experience
