Job Description

Job Summary

GE Aerospace is a leading manufacturer of aircraft engines and components, partnering with major aerospace companies across commercial, business jet, and military applications.

The Controls Engineer is responsible for electrical controls diagnosis and repair of equipment and development of controls strategy across the building management system. In this role, you will be responsible for complying with regulatory requirements, maintaining, fault finding, and diagnosing equipment. You will be required to work in sensitive areas, upholding all GE standards, while producing a high-quality of work. You will support the team with controls-related breakdowns across various equipment and play a pivotal role in developing our building management system.

The role will be based on a day shift, with a 37-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Electrical Safety
  2. Oversee and support the design and build of electrical control panels, including documentation of all drawings and technical data consistent with current National Electrical Standards.
  3. Assist with building and managing the sitewide Trend BMS system.
  4. Use panel-building skills to implement solutions.
  5. Ensure regulatory compliance is always maintained.
  6. Install, fault-find, and repair electrical infrastructure and equipment.
  7. Work within the maintenance & facilities team to manage sitewide systems and procedures, including fire alarm testing & emergency response.
Requirements
  1. Electrical installation apprenticeship or equivalent.
  2. Strong experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment/facility.
  3. Electrical Safety experience.
  4. Various training and support will be provided, so a desire for personal continuous improvement is required.
  5. Good knowledge of PLC systems within an industrial environment.
  6. Confined space trained.
  7. HV Substation Awareness training.
  8. IPAF.
  9. Strong computer skills.
  10. Electrical Authorized Person trained.
  11. Optical Fibre/Data testing and installation.
  12. 2391 Electrical Test and Inspection.
