Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and autonomous individual to support the various stages of development for projects. As an Associate Project Engineer, you will prepare procedures, complete reports, and ensure the progression and efficiency of each project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the technical setup and operation of each project.
  • Prepare and correspond with construction and environmental method statements, and other documentation as required.
  • Undertake investigations as required.
  • Prepare technical specifications, calculations, and designs for CAD documentation.
  • Support the interpretation of customers' technical specifications, supporting all technical and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Design and document civil and structural components of a project.
  • Evaluate, organize, and prioritize work within the overall project schedule and client requirements.
  • Attend, contribute, and chair project meetings and note take when required.
  • Manage progress monitoring and report against project plan, implementing corrective action as needed.
  • Assist with cost and schedule management to ensure it is within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Prepare daily progress reports while offshore.
  • Support the liaison and management of third-party contractors to ensure equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Support justifications for contractual variations during projects to ensure they are maintained to support subsequent commercial claims.
  • Interpret clients' requirements, identifying and addressing design parameters and engineering problems, and ensure solutions are implemented.
  • Provide supervision for grouting operations, including mechanics and technicians on and offshore.
  • Manage the expedition of subcontractors.
  • Produce timesheets in a timely manner and ensure accurate recording of hours while offshore.
  • Support reviews and assist with the resolution of any issues that may arise from project engineering reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and safety policies and procedures while on and offshore.
Requirements:
  • Excellent understanding of Human Factors and their role in incident prevention.
  • Thorough understanding of behavioral-based safety systems.
  • Proactive, able to work autonomously within tight timescales, managing multi-disciplined projects/tasks.
  • Able to drive engineering projects through to completion.
  • Computer literate and understanding of Microsoft and IT packages.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem solver with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Able to take initiative and drive things forward.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • MEng or BEng in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Basic Pro Engineer/CAD training (desirable).
  • Previous experience working within an offshore organization (desirable).
  • OGUK Medicals (training can be provided).
