We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at AKT II. As a key member of our design-led company, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions on complex projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead specialist structural engineering design projects across various sectors, including commercial, health, and retail.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce detailed designs and specifications in line with design and construction programs.
- Ensure the coordination of design and detailing work, as well as internal project management and resourcing.
- Conduct structural surveys and provide initial advice on potential issues.
- Prepare detailed design calculations and specifications using relevant software packages.
- Interpret client briefs and assist in preparing designs at all stages, from scheme to detail.
- Investigate solutions, explore options, and communicate design ideas through sketches, models, and presentations.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes.
- Respond to client requests for information and attend design team meetings.
- Coordinate design information with engineers from other disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
- Support and participate in AKT II's technical agenda.
- Good degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Experienced Chartered Engineer (IStructE or ICE or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
- Ability to design and deliver structural solutions on major and complex projects.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of design and analysis programs.
- Exceptional understanding of CDM Regulations and designers' responsibilities.
