We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Defence team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a range of PMO and project controls services to support designated projects within the PMO and planning centre of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage the application of specific project controls methods, techniques, and tools with a good working knowledge of a variety of techniques on a range of project and programme complexity.
  • Direct and manage a team of professionals delivering projects controls services and responsible for staff development.
  • Evaluate trends and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively in a complex project environment using numerical and statistical techniques as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead the application of specific project controls methods, techniques, and tools.
  • Have a good working knowledge of EVM and project controls methodologies.
  • Advise on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Manage projects controls delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals delivering projects controls services and responsible for staff development.
  • Manage assistant managers & managers where required by the scale of the project.
Requirements:
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working on construction projects and/or consultancy.
  • Experience of delivering effective PMO and project controls/assurance frameworks/strategies.
  • Good knowledge of PMO and project controls tools, techniques, and software (e.g. MS office and Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, and RiskHive).
  • An interest in data analytics.
  • Knowledge of PMO and project controls service delivery in one or more sectors (e.g. rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals).
  • Good interpersonal skills and potential ability to form effective working relationships.
  • Create and deliver clear and professional presentations to project teams/clients.
  • Effective networking skills.
  • Flexible, pragmatic, and adaptable.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of a range of PMO and project controls services.
  • APM planning and project controls (PPC) foundation and practitioner.
