We are working with one of the UK\u2019s leading independently owned multi-disciplined civil engineering contracting groups.

Their project portfolio is diverse and ranges from highways, structures, environmental & greenfield infrastructure.

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all works are completed in full compliance with health and safety legislation and company policy and procedures on quality, health and safety and the environment.

You will lead on the management of the project and ensure all works are managed in line with the contract.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and updating quality, environmental, and construction phase plans.
  • Writing and updating risk assessments and method statements.
  • Planning, measuring, monitoring, and reviewing progress throughout the project\u2019s lifespan to ensure compliance with budget and programme.
  • Inputting into monthly financial reports including cost/value reconciliations and budget forecasts.
  • Working collaboratively to administer the contract whilst maintaining good relations with project stakeholders.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications and ensuring the accurate construction of the works in accordance with the client\u2019s requirements.
  • Identifying risk in sufficient time to allow effective mitigation to be implemented.
  • Overseeing the management of site level change including Early Warning\u2019s and Compensation Event\u2019s.
  • Ensuring appropriate plant, labour, subcontract, and material resources are available in a timely manner to meet the project programme.
  • Communicating and liaising with others to facilitate a teamwork approach to problem solving and operational tasks.
  • Ensuring environmental protection measures are identified and implemented.

Qualification & Criteria:

Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or a similar related discipline with a demonstrable track record)

CSCS Black Managers card or Professionally Qualified card. NVQ Level 6 or above preferred

SMSTS

Track record of delivery as a Project Manager / Site Agent within the civil engineering industry.

Strong management skills and able to provide mentoring and support to the wider team

Ability to interact confidently and effectively with excellent interpersonal, listening, and negotiation skills

Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including the use of MS Project (or other programming software)

A good working knowledge of different standard forms of contracts, particularly NEC 3/4

Good problem-solving skills able to collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions

Strong commercial acumen
