About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with a plumbing bias to join our team at Wokingham Hospital. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for delivering scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services to ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and wellbeing policies, as well as statutory regulations and approved codes of practice.
  • Implement new or revised practices and policies within your work area.
  • Deliver maintenance services as directed by the PPM planner, helpdesk, or Technical Services Supervisor, maintaining operational standards.
  • Undertake tasks in disciplines other than your own, as required.
  • Assess problems to determine the best course of action, including complex technical issues, and communicate technical information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective site log books at NHS premises, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Requirements:

  • At least one of the following qualifications: BTEC City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering, or formal apprenticeship/craft trained equivalent.
  • Driving licence essential.
  • Comfortable using technological devices to log jobs.
  • On-call availability.
  • Desirable: industry experience and ability to work alone or as part of a team.
