Position Overview

At Prospero Teaching, we are seeking experienced educators who have a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-on-one basis. Our goal is to find a dedicated and inspiring tutor who can effectively assist learners whose requirements may differ from conventional educational frameworks.


The ideal candidate will possess qualities such as patience and empathy, along with the ability to design and implement tailored learning plans. A supportive and therapeutic approach may be essential for those with SEN, ensuring that each student receives the structure they need in their daily activities while fostering their educational growth in various forms.


This tutoring role serves as an alternative to traditional schooling for these students and typically operates on a part-time basis during standard school hours, five days a week. Prospero Teaching will collaborate closely with you to track each pupil's progress through weekly reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support within Hartlepool and nearby regions.
  • Engage with students in a one-on-one tutoring environment.
  • Flexible scheduling options to accommodate both the tutor's and the student's needs.


Qualifications:

  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate experience in UK classroom settings.
  • Exhibit creativity, patience, and a willingness to adopt innovative teaching methods.
  • Have a background in working with students with SEND or those who are disengaged from mainstream education.


Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be prepared to apply for a new one.
  • Provide references covering the last two years of employment.
