Position: Environmental Consultant
Qualifications: Degree in Environmental Science or related STEM field. Minimum of one year of experience in Environmental or EHS roles.
Employment Type: Permanent, available for both Full-time (37.5 hours) and Part-time candidates.
Location: Sheffield
Compensation: Salary between £30,000 and £42,000, based on experience, along with additional benefits.

EHS Projects is a dynamic environmental consultancy based in Sheffield, serving clients nationwide. Our team has a proven history of delivering exceptional services across various sectors, including food and beverage, chemicals, engineering, waste management, and aviation. Our consultants engage in multidisciplinary practices, focusing on legal compliance audits, carbon and energy analysis, sustainability initiatives, environmental reporting, project management, and permitting processes.
Objective
We are looking to expand our team with a Sheffield-based Environmental Consultant or Senior Consultant. Candidates should possess experience in environmental consultancy or related EHS roles. A strong technical background in auditing, carbon management, or environmental permitting is highly desirable. Our consultants frequently meet clients on-site to gain a comprehensive understanding of their operations, which may involve travel across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with a team of environmental and health & safety consultants to enhance operational support.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and management systems.
- Perform technical evaluations of risks related to water, ground, waste, and air pollution.
- Assist clients in obtaining necessary permits and authorizations.
- Execute projects involving energy and carbon data analysis and reporting.
- Support clients in developing and achieving sustainability goals.
- Utilize and enhance commercial and leadership capabilities.
- Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Demonstrate a commitment to expanding and diversifying EHS Projects' service offerings.
Essential Qualifications:
- At least one year of relevant experience in environmental consultancy or EHS roles.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, or a related STEM discipline.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- A valid UK driving license.
- Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in environmental or EHS auditing.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting processes.
- Experience in conducting technical assessments of environmental risks.
- Background in developing environmental management systems.
- Experience working with energy and carbon data or projects focused on low carbon initiatives.
