Environmental Sustainability Specialist

A leading Sheffield business, Pratap Partnership Ltd, is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing environmental advice and support to project management teams, conducting environmental investigations and site inspections, and leading the production of Environmental and Social Appraisals (ESA) and Management Plans (ESMP).
Responsibilities:- Provide expert environmental advice and support to project management teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct thorough environmental investigations and site inspections to identify potential environmental risks and opportunities.
- Lead the production of Environmental and Social Appraisals (ESA) and Management Plans (ESMP) to ensure effective environmental management and mitigation.
- Develop and implement environmental reports, mitigation plans, and risk assessments to minimize environmental impacts.
- Support compliance with ISO14001 and other environmental standards to ensure a sustainable and responsible business practice.
- Deliver subject matter briefings and training to colleagues and stakeholders on environmental best practices and regulations.
- Assist in audits and monitoring for environmental performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Full UK driving license.
- Railway experience in a similar role and full PTS (Personal Track Safety) is an advantage, but not essential.
- Be a minimum of a Practitioner member of the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment or working towards; and/or NEBOSH Environmental.
- Good knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice.
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to write clear, concise reports.
- Ability to multi-task and work proactively and flexibly in support of changing workloads.
- Strong prioritization and organization skills.
- A relevant undergraduate degree or experience in Environmental management.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Monday to Friday office-based, with travel required - you can plan your own diary and car allowance/expenses covered.
