Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and patient individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant (Primary) in a thriving primary school in Colchester. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment, supporting children in their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to provide additional help and support.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment, promoting a love of learning in all students.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers, helping to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support pupils with special educational needs, adapting resources and strategies as needed.
  • Supervise children during break times and lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
  • A caring, patient, and understanding attitude, with a strong commitment to supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, communicating effectively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • A strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of practice.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
