Flexible Supply Educator
Ad-hoc Engagement

Teaching Personnel is actively seeking qualified educators interested in day-to-day supply assignments. If you are a certified teacher currently seeking opportunities for ad-hoc work, we are here to assist you. We collaborate with various educational institutions that frequently require supply educators to cover classes. Successful candidates will be contacted for interviews in the upcoming weeks.

Requirements for Supply Educators:

  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) or Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT)
  • Capable of covering both Primary and Secondary classes
  • Experience in teaching within Primary or Secondary educational settings
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate available on the Update Service

Note: Teaching Personnel can assist you with your DBS application.

Working with Teaching Personnel as a Flexible Supply Educator allows you to choose the days you wish to work. This role is perfect for individuals seeking flexibility in their employment. As a supply educator, you will find that all necessary materials for your classes are prepared by the regular teacher, allowing you to supervise students as they complete their tasks. Once the school day concludes, there is no requirement to stay behind for marking, lesson planning, or attending departmental meetings.

A successful and effective Supply Educator is someone who demonstrates confidence and possesses strong classroom management skills. Students may exhibit challenging behaviors, especially when their regular teacher is absent. It is essential for you, as the supply educator, to manage these behaviors and maintain student focus on their assignments. Support will be available from the department in which you are working.

All applicants must have the relevant qualifications and training for this position. For further information, please refer to the FAQs on the Teaching Personnel website.
All pay rates mentioned will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role in the future.
Teaching Personnel is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We conduct safeguarding checks on all personnel in accordance with DfE statutory guidance, which may include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
We provide all registered candidates with complimentary child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undergo or have completed a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with full assistance provided.
