Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals for our children and staff, ensuring a balanced and nutritious menu that meets our high standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service and high-quality food.
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase foodstuffs to meet our needs.
  • Receive and examine foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards.
  • Select and develop recipes based on the type of food to be prepared, applying personal knowledge and experience in food preparation.
  • Follow all guidelines for food hygiene and health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Take full responsibility for the cleaning of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and NVQ Level 2 in Food Service; Intermediate Food Hygiene.
  • Certificate of completion of any training program in cooking or vocational school.
  • Hold a basic food hygiene certificate.
  • Can accurately complete food safety records at the school.
  • Cooking experience within any food establishment.
  • Good understanding of commercial catering operations.
  • Proficient IT skills for ordering and sending surveys.
  • A good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP.
  • Suitability to work with children.
  • Flexible and maintain a sound sense of humour.
  • Commitment to continued personal and professional development.
