Senior Project Manager - HV Substations

Turner Lovell is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of HV Substation Design and Build projects across Scotland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and safely delivering site activities, as well as supporting the project team in delivering construction works.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and continuously improving Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality management systems across projects
  • Driving strategic oversight of project deliverables, ensuring optimal performance in time, cost, and quality metrics while maintaining rigorous safety standards
  • Providing visionary leadership to cross-functional teams spanning design, site operations, and commissioning across a diverse project portfolio
  • Establishing and cascading critical objectives to project team leads, implementing robust monitoring systems to ensure alignment with overarching project goals
  • Directing comprehensive project cost control strategies, optimizing resource allocation and financial performance
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of sophisticated method statements and risk assessments, ensuring best-in-class operational practices
  • Cultivating an organizational culture characterized by transparency, open communication, and continuous improvement, fostering innovation and excellence across teams

Requirements include:

  • Extensive strategic leadership in managing complex Substation projects up to 400kV
  • Advanced certification in Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Superior interpersonal acumen, with a history of building and maintaining high-level stakeholder relationships
  • Full driving license, enabling mobility for critical site visits and key meetings
  • Demonstrated success in driving robust financial performance within challenging contracting environments
  • Comprehensive understanding and implementation of cutting-edge safety and quality management systems
  • Advanced project management credentials such as APM, PRINCE2, or PMI are highly desirable
