Clinical Fellow Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Clinical Fellow to join our General Surgery team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. This is a fixed-term post initially for 12 months, with the option to extend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in a busy surgical unit, working closely with our team of trainees and consultants.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance and quality improvement projects.
- Engage in training and education of junior staff and medical students, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
- Participate in research projects, collaborating with our team to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years' experience as an SHO, with experience as a Registrar in General Surgery.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council.
- Experience of working in the NHS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.

Person Specification:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, undertaking PhD/MD.
- Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
- Evidence of achievement of ST2, CT2 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application and likelihood of achieving ST3/CT3 competences in a relevant specialty by the start date of the post.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Language Skills:
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues.
Health:
- Meets professional health requirements, in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice.
Clinical Skills:
- Relevant specialty clinical knowledge, with experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk.
- Practical skills, with aptitude for practical skills required in the job.
- MRCS or equivalent ATLS.
