The District Human Resources Manager plays a crucial role within the Human Resources and Field Operations teams, reporting directly to the District Manager, with a collaborative relationship with the Area Human Resources Manager who aligns with Field Operations and corporate HR.
This position is a vital part of the District Leadership team, supporting a district that encompasses multiple locations.
In this capacity, you will work alongside the District Leadership team to cultivate a culture of engagement where all associates feel empowered to perform at their best and take pride in their contributions.
This role will customize regional human capital strategies to foster an engaged workforce that meets customer needs.In this position, you will implement HR practices and procedures that align with organizational objectives across a designated District, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
Main Responsibilities:
Associate Retention and Experience
- Oversee and facilitate the District's onboarding program for new associates.
- Mentor and support onboarding Ambassadors throughout the district.
- Train managers to ensure new associates receive adequate support during their onboarding journey.
- Analyze trends and identify areas for enhancement based on feedback from onboarding programs, exit interviews, and associate insights.
- Collaborate with your Area Human Resources Manager and District Manager to identify and propose solutions for local retention challenges.
Talent Management
- Guide the development of district teams by coaching leaders in effective people management and associate development processes.
- Assist supervisors and managers in creating and executing impactful development plans for their associates.
- Monitor development plans to ensure progress and escalate issues to the District Manager if necessary.
- Prepare documentation and reports for district-level succession planning and quarterly talent review meetings.
- Implement the Area training plan in partnership with location leaders to ensure associates receive and complete necessary training.
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with various departments to assess and propose appropriate staffing levels based on growth trends and workforce planning tools.
- Provide staffing support to leadership by collaborating on recruitment initiatives, including partnerships with local educational institutions.
- Establish a connection between field recruiters and the District Manager to develop and prioritize recruiting strategies.
Associate and Labor Relations
- Proactively cultivate relationships at locations to foster a positive culture and engaging environment.
- Develop and maintain a workplace that reflects our Employee Value Proposition by advising associates and management on HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in investigations of associate concerns and collaborate with the Area HR Manager on recommendations.
HR Expertise & Compliance
- Stay informed about employment laws relevant to locations.
- Communicate effectively to maintain legal compliance through regular analysis and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Focus on compensation equity and compliance with the Associate Handbook.
- Ensure all company and legally mandated training requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role (generalist, specialist, recruiting) required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- HR certification preferred (e.g., CPHR, CHRP).
- Knowledge of employment law and compliance issues.
- Strong presentation skills, including effective oral and written communication.
- Ability to gather, compile, and analyze data.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships.
- High level of integrity and ethics required.
- Proficient in various computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a basic understanding of HRIS systems.
- Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel as needed.
- Ability to travel 30-50% within the assigned district, which may include overnight travel.
