Senior Employment Law Associate

Type: Hybrid / Permanent

Role Summary:

Iconic Resourcing is on the lookout for a proactive and skilled Associate ready to advance or a Senior Associate with a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment law expertise to spearhead the employment division in Glasgow. This position is tailored for a solicitor with a minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE), offering a distinctive chance to influence and enhance the department as part of a strategic succession plan.

The Employment Division:

The team is approachable and collaborative, focusing on building robust client relationships by emphasizing outstanding client service and cooperative partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

  • Deliver comprehensive daily employment guidance encompassing the full spectrum of employment law.
  • Concentrate on contentious issues, representing both employers and employees in Employment Tribunals across Scotland and England on matters such as unfair dismissal, wrongful termination, discrimination, whistleblowing, breach of contract, assertion of statutory rights, and employment classification.
  • Manage non-contentious issues, including drafting employment contracts and settlement agreements.
  • Provide training to employers of various sizes on HR, employment, and discrimination topics.
  • Collaborate with a supportive and friendly team within a highly regarded firm.
  • Experience genuine opportunities for career advancement.
  • Engage in business development initiatives and cultivate client relationships.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Scottish Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
  • Experience acquired in a similar environment and at an appropriate level.
  • Strong technical knowledge of employment law, excellent drafting and communication abilities, and a commercial, practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to support and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
