Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Import/Export Compliance Specialist to enhance our client's logistics team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of customs processes and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage Import and Export operations, ensuring adherence to HM Revenue & Customs regulations and other governing bodies.
- Collaborate with legal advisors to verify export controls and licensing prerequisites.
- Ensure compliance with all HMRC duty obligations while striving to minimize costs.
- Engage with customers, suppliers, and customs authorities to resolve any inquiries or issues that may arise.
- Handle substantial data entry tasks efficiently, particularly using spreadsheets.
- Submit customs entry amendment requests to HMRC as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of two years of experience in Import/Export operations.
- Proficient knowledge of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) and customs compliance regulations.
- Strong understanding of customs requirements, especially regarding UK and EU imports.
- Experience with HMRC amendment and reclaim processes.
- Familiarity with transit procedures and the ETSF.
- Background in road transport, logistics, or haulage is advantageous.
Skills and Attributes:
The successful candidate will be:
- Highly organized with excellent prioritization skills.
- Detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Compensation: The Import/Export Compliance Specialist will receive a competitive salary of up to £28,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
