Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Join our team at Talent Curve Recruitment as we seek a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and manage mechanical design projects for our client, a well-established engineering firm based in Dungannon.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to oversee the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components. This role involves leading a team of engineers, providing guidance and technical support, and ensuring that all designs meet project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for various projects.
  • Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure that all designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design solutions.
  • Perform testing and validation of prototypes to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex design-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design processes, updates, and project milestones.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical design.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
