Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Producer - Production Manager is a key member of The Lost Estate's production team, responsible for overseeing the creative, financial, and operational aspects of our productions. This is a full-time role that requires a high level of expertise in theatrical and event producing, with a focus on delivering high-quality productions on time, on budget, and with creative integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Producing: Identify, recruit, and contract creative and performing teams for TLE productions, including negotiating and drafting deal terms such as fees and royalty structures.
  • Event Producing: Realize TLE production concepts from idea to reality, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with creative integrity. Create, coordinate, and manage all TLE production activities and budgets from inception to conclusion.
  • General Management: Ensure productions run smoothly and at a consistently high standard across their performance lifecycle. Lead on reviewing show reporting, identifying, and addressing issues as they arise. Work closely with the Head of Finance to review production-level commercial data to ensure appropriate budget and cost control.
  • Production Talent Acquisition and Management: Work alongside TLE's People Manager and Head of Production to recruit, contract, and line manage creative, performer, and running team personnel. This includes identifying staffing structures and roles, drafting job descriptions, selecting candidates for interview, offering roles, and overseeing probation periods (where required).
  • Licensing/JVs: Identify, develop, and leverage strategic partnerships to grow TLE in the UK and internationally through license opportunities, joint ventures, or other commercial models.
  • Commercial Forecasting and Management: Work closely with TLE's senior leadership team to identify strong commercial models for our productions. Create production budgets/forecasts and manage accurately across production lifecycles, ensuring commercial targets are met accordingly.
  • Company Culture: Contribute to and adhere to TLE's company culture, making this a place where great people do their best work. Participate in the HOD's working group to improve and develop our production processes through new systems, strategies, policies, and ways of working.

Requirements

  • Considerable experience in theatrical and/or event producing, working on complex and large-scale productions in both site-specific and traditional performance environments.
  • Experience producing commercial productions (ideally in the West End or similar), IP licensing (both the acquisition and selling of IP rights and/or products), complex contractual negotiations (including with the relevant unions), and some experience in touring productions.
  • A superb network of strategic partnerships that can be leveraged to grow TLE.
  • New and transformative processes to bring to the department.
  • An inspiring and effective leader of our creative, production, and running teams.
