Job Summary

CMC Markets is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Head of Internal Audit to lead the development and delivery of the annual and 3-year internal audit plan. This is a key and senior hire for the business, requiring a strong leader who can work closely with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Deliver Audit Plans: Lead the development and delivery of the annual and 3-year internal audit plan, ensuring that it aligns with the company's risk management strategy.
  2. Lead Complex Audit Assignments: Lead and participate in delivering complex and challenging audit assignments, requiring consideration of complex, judgemental business processes and decisions.
  3. Identify and Address Risks: Identify meaningful issues impacting business and operations under review, challenging management to develop appropriate remedial action to address the issues identified.
  4. Prepare Audit Reports: Prepare draft audit reports for review by management, ensuring that they are clear, concise, and actionable.
  5. Track and Chase Audit Actions: Effectively track and chase audit actions and where necessary test their implementation prior to sign off.
  6. Build Relationships: Build and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders and participate in Continuous Monitoring activities.
  7. Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain up to date knowledge of industry best practice and regulatory requirements.
  8. Represent Internal Audit: Represent Internal Audit at management meetings/committees including the Group Audit Committee.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 8 - 10 years post qualification experience working in financial services or banking, within Third Line Internal Audit or Second Line Risk or Compliance Monitoring.
  2. Proven Track Record: Proven track record in leading and delivering risk-based projects.
  3. Audit Methodologies: Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of audit methodologies.
  4. Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of global regulation and key areas of regulatory focus from regional regulators including FCA, EBA, ASIC, BaFin and MAS.
  5. Communication Skills: Proven record of strong communication skills and influencing skills.
  6. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge and use of Excel and other Microsoft software - PowerPoint, Word, Visio. Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence beneficial.
  7. Education: Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience and have completed a recognised relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CIMA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA), but not essential.
