Chemical Manufacturing Technician - Aerospace Sector
Location: Not Specified
Compensation Package: £27, % Shift Allowance (Approx. £35,000) + Overtime Opportunities + Career Advancement + Dental Coverage + Pension Scheme + 25 Days Annual Leave + Additional Flexible Benefits
Are you a motivated or seasoned Chemical Manufacturing Technician or similar professional seeking to enhance your career with new educational prospects and the opportunity to work in a specialized industry? This expanding Aerospace organization is committed to investing in employee development to foster overall company growth, creating an excellent career opportunity for individuals eager to broaden their expertise for personal advancement.
As a Chemical Manufacturing Technician, you will collaborate with the operations team and oversee process chemistry to ensure that equipment operational standards are upheld. Your responsibilities will include machine sanitation, surface treatment, developing, etching, stripping, and conducting inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sanitation: Conduct thorough cleaning of stainless-steel components to eliminate any grease, oils, or contaminants, ensuring a consistent and effective etching process.
- Surface Treatment: Apply a resist material (such as a photosensitive resist) to designated areas to prevent etching. This can be accomplished through various methods including screen printing, photolithography, or direct writing.
- Development: Process the plates by removing the unexposed resist, leaving the patterned sections protected while exposing the remaining metal.
- Etching: Submerge the plates in an etching solution that chemically interacts with stainless steel to eliminate the exposed areas. Common etching solutions for stainless steel include ferric chloride, hydrochloric acid, or nitric acid mixtures.
- Stripping: Eliminate the resist material using an appropriate solvent or stripping solution, revealing the etched design on the stainless-steel components.
- Quality Inspection: Examine the plates for quality and precision of the etched designs, ensuring there are no defects or irregularities that could impact performance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with import/export analysis, invoicing, and packaging
- Background in either Manufacturing or the Aerospace sector
- Strong internal and external customer service abilities
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft applications
- Aiming for long-term career growth within a developing organization
If you find this description aligns with your skills and aspirations, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Our recruitment team will reach out to qualified candidates to discuss the next steps.
