About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field-Based Engineer to join our team in Poole or New Forest. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of construction requirements relating to SSEN owned assets and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of capital works construction projects, fluid-filled cable faults, asset portfolio plans, and connections as directed by project managers.
  • Oversee the management of substation and cabling projects, provide SAP resource and PM duties for internal delivery projects as required.
  • Work with project managers and design engineers to ensure safe and efficient delivery of SSEN's capital portfolio externally and internally resourced.
  • Populate and amend white books as required for both faults/projects and update Maximo via MAD forms commensurate with job.
  • Support regions in fault scenarios as requested by works delivery manager/depot.
Requirements
  • 33-132kV SAP authorization including full Sanction For Test (SFT).
  • Proven experience in testing and witnessing commissioning of HV/EHV distribution systems.
  • Ability to carry out fault investigation, locations, and repairs on EHV fluid-filled cable systems.
  • Undertake project management duties on small-scale internal delivery projects as agreed.
