Job Title: Associate, Quantitative Research Analyst

Castleton Commodities International, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Associate, Quantitative Research Analyst to join our team in London. As a key member of our research platform, you will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis of the European energy market, with a focus on the EU power market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform power market research and analysis to support trading activities, with a focus on the short-term market.
  • Develop and maintain fundamental supply and demand models, as well as pricing models, to support trading decisions.
  • Design and develop proprietary analytical tools to support the power desk's trading activities.
  • Work closely with other analysts and traders to identify market opportunities and develop trading strategies.
  • Monitor market, industry, product, and pricing trends for energy-related news.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field of study.
  • Experience in an analytical role covering European power markets is desirable.
  • Strong communication and quantitative skills, with the ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent computer programming skills, especially in Python, with experience in optimization and mathematical solvers.
