Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Building Services Technician on behalf of a well-established, family-owned construction services firm.

With over three decades of experience, this company provides a diverse array of construction services to clients throughout the South East. Their operations span various sectors, including commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, facilities management, and education.


As the Building Services Technician, you will be engaged in maintenance activities across Commercial and Retail locations, responsible for executing routine property upkeep tasks such as painting, minor plumbing, carpentry, brickwork, and general repairs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all assigned Reactive Works orders and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks within the stipulated contract timeframes and performance indicators.
  • Maintain effective communication with Clients, Customers, and Team members through regular updates and feedback.
  • Carry out routine maintenance duties, including painting, decorating, minor plumbing, carpentry, brickwork, and general repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with site regulations by conducting regular inspections and reporting findings.
  • Perform some administrative tasks, such as completing forms and maintaining maintenance records.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Engage daily with the helpdesk/Supervisor regarding the status of PPM and Reactive tasks.
Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Multi Trader or Fabric Engineer with a strong maintenance background.
  • Experience in mobile engineering or property maintenance.
  • Preferably qualified in relevant trades (e.g., Carpentry, Plastering, Decorating or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated expertise in building services trades.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • Proficient in computer usage and data management, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical systems is advantageous.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
