Apprentice HGV Maintenance Technician

Join us in making a positive impact as an Apprentice HGV Maintenance Technician at our Biffa facility.

As a result of our ongoing expansion, Biffa is seeking dedicated HGV technicians to enhance our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep of our modern fleet of waste collection vehicles within our workshops.

This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of waste collection vehicles and equipment, including various makes and models, from small vans to articulated lorries and trailers.

You will gain expertise in the following areas;

Servicing and repairing vehicle chassis and cabs in accordance with industry standards, including preparation for inspections. Maintenance and repair of waste handling machinery, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle faults. Maintaining high standards of organization and documentation, both digitally and in print. Assisting with health and safety compliance to uphold our established standards.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities. A valid driving license, Category B.
