Teaching Assistant Level 1 Job Description

Chatsworth High School and Community College, part of the Chatsworth Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant to support students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a broad range of special educational needs, including autism, SLD, and PMLD.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students, promoting their well-being and inclusion.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting the values of the Chatsworth Multi Academy Trust.

Requirements:

  • A strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Experience working with students with autism, SLD, and PMLD, an asset.
