Job Summary

Gem Partnership Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Tool Maker to join our team at our main manufacturing facility in Chilton. As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for creating precision tools, special guides, and holding devices that will be used in our manufacturing process to ensure high-quality products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and manufacture bespoke manufacturing aids using a variety of manual milling, turning, and grinding machines, as well as other machines and hand tools.
  • Work in a small team environment, collaborating with engineering, quality, and production team members to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Keep accurate records of production, maintenance, and quality control activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working in a toolroom or similar environment, with a strong background in precision tool making.
  • Experience with setting and operating CNC milling machines or lathes is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Toolmaker in the engineering industry is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to improve tool designs and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working Conditions and Benefits

  • Monday to Thursday: 7am - 4pm
  • Friday: 7am - 11:30am
  • Competitive salary up to £37,000 per year, paid weekly
