Job Description

Tencent Games' Venture Lab is seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in elevating the potential of our portfolio studios and creating a lasting impact on their games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with studio developers to provide technical-related advisory and support, focusing on quality and efficiency.
  • Drive quality in a collaborative and constructive way, partnering with essential team members to create organizational structures and processes that enable high-quality work on time and on budget.
  • Involvement in strategic product planning, franchise, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for project tracking, including milestone reviews and feedback.
  • Prepare and regularly communicate project status information to management.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Technical Director or Director of Engineering.
  • Leadership experience in setting strategic direction, with outstanding organizational skills and ability.
  • Experience managing a production team, ideally externally, with a medium-large team or development studio within one location and globally.
  • An understanding of a wide range of project management concepts, tools, and approaches, and an ability to tailor methods to meet the requirements of the team.
  • Experience delivering multiple high-quality entertainment experiences, understanding the motivations of your player base, and assessing innovation to deliver upon expectations.
